The holder of the ERA Chairs project EBEAM, Professor Mark H. Rümmeli, will deliver an invited lecture at the ninth PRiME meeting, one of the world’s most prestigious conferences on electrochemistry and solid-state science. The event will take place from October 6th to 11th in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is organized by The Electrochemical Society (ECS), The Electrochemical Society of Japan (ECSJ), and The Korean Electrochemical Society (KECS).
Professor Rümmeli will deliver a lecture titled Toward Precision Manufacturing with Electron Microscopes.
“A key feature of my research is to develop a transmission electron microscope (TEM) into an atomic-scale laboratory. This innovative approach allows for the fabrication, modification, and characterization of samples, enabling crucial structure-property studies and synthesis studies to be conducted with high spatial and temporal resolution. Central to my presentation will be an exploration of various electron beam-driven chemical reactions and electron beam engineering techniques, through which we can fabricate and manipulate nano-materials at the atomic level. Such approaches are important for the development and refinement of advanced materials and technologies, for example, the efficiency and performance of electronic and photonic devices,” explained Professor Rümmeli.
