Call for candidates interested in applying for an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship in nanomaterial research
We are searching for Ph.D. holders (up to 8 years of from the date of award), who have not resided in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during last 3 years at the time of the deadline (10 Sep 2025).
Researchers in the following nanomaterial research areas are particularly welcome:
- a) New and emerging nanomaterials.
- b) Nanomaterials synthesis.
- c) Electron-beam techniques in nanomaterials.
- d) In-situ characterization and technology.
- e) Near atom and atom level precision manufacturing.
- f) Machine learning in the context of nanomaterials fabrication/discovery.
- g) 3D nanoscale construction

Required expertise:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.

Activity description/Position Overview:
As a key member of the EBEAM Centre, you will contribute to groundbreaking research in the synthesis of 2D materials using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) driven by the electron beam with additional drivers such as heat and local gas injection. This is not conventional synthesis – it’s a chance to pioneer new approaches and be at the forefront of precision manufacturing at or near the atomic level.
Key Responsibilities:
- 2D Materials Synthesis: Spearhead research in the synthesis of 2D materials using SEM-driven techniques.
- Electron Beam Precision: Drive advancements in precision manufacturing at the nanoscale and toward the atomic level, pushing the boundaries of current technology.

Alternative funding in the Czech Republic
The proposals which obtain a score of 70% or above in the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call under Horizon Europe but are not proposed for funding under MSCA due to the lack of budget, are eligible for funding under ERA Fellowships or under the Operational Programme John Amos Comenius (2021- 2027).
